O Eternal Lord God, from whom alone cometh wisdom and understanding: We beseech thee to direct aright the minds of those who are about to take counsel together on matters pertaining to the common life of this borough; that in all their deliberations and decisions they may faithfully discharge the duties of their office, and ever promote the health, the safety, and the wellbeing of those whom they seek to serve; for the honour and glory of thy holy name.
