Gracious Lord, who wast born of a woman, look in mercy, we beseech thee, on the women of thy Church. Grant that they may know and enjoy the honour that thou didst purpose for women, and that as in old time women brought good tidings of thy resurrection, so in these days they may be the bearers of thy light and heavenly benediction; for thy name’s sake, to whom with the Father and the Holy Spirit be honour and glory, world without end.
