Mercifully look upon us, O Lord, as we meet together at this time in thy name and in thy service; save us from all pride and self-assertion, from all desire for the praise of men; and grant that whatever we do for thy Church may be done for his sake alone, who loved us and gave himself for us, thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ.
