Almighty God, who in thy great mercy hast called us into the fellowship of thy Church and the service of thy kingdom: Hear us as we lift up our hearts to thee to seek thy blessing upon the work of this council. So guide and empower us by thy Holy Spirit that we may be enabled both to know and to do thy will; unite us in brotherly love one towards another; and fill us with zeal to work together for the benefit of thy Church in this place, and for the advancement of thy kingdom throughout the world. We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord.
