Occasional Prayers

O God, our heavenly Father, whose ways are hidden and thy works wonderful: Comfort, we pray thee, this woman and her husband whose hearts are heavy with sorrow. Surround them with thy protection, and grant them grace to face the future with good courage and hope. Teach them to use this pain in deeper sympathy for all who suffer, so that they may share in thy work of turning sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
