Occasional Prayers

O God our Father, who hast called us into the fellowship of thy holy Church through Jesus Christ our Lord: We praise thee for those who have been lights of the world in their generation and in whose lives men have seen the likeness of thy mercy and love. Accept, we beseech thee, this memorial of thy servant, N., who by thy grace rendered unto thee in this [city and diocese] true and laudable service; and grant that it may encourage those who come after to honour thee in like manner to the benefit of thy Church and people; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord.
