Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who hast graciously promised that at evening time it shall be light: Hear us as we commend to thee thy servants who are drawing near to the end of life’s journey. Comfort them, O Lord, with the assurance of thy presence; grant them thy peace; and may their path be as the shining light, which shineth more and more unto the perfect day; through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
