O Merciful Father, who hast taught us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: We commend to thy care and guidance the boys and girls in the schools of this parish [diocese, town]; beseeching thee that they may grow up in the faith of thy holy Church, and so be ready to do their duty in that state of life into which it shall please thee to call them; for the honour of thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
