O God, who didst give thy blessed Son for the redemption of the whole life of man: Prosper, we beseech thee, the efforts of all who labour to free the land from the curse of intemperance, and to establish our people in holiness and self-control. Put it into the hearts of many to give themselves to this service, and grant them abundantly the spirit of wisdom and love, of zeal and patience; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
