O Lord God, our heavenly Father, we humbly beseech thee to look with thy favour upon the bishops, clergy and laity who take counsel together at this time in the Church Assembly. Mercifully grant that thy Holy Spirit may rest upon them, to enlighten and guide them; that all their consultations may be prospered to the advancement of thy glory and the welfare of thy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
