Occasional Prayers

O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst go, as thy custom was, into the synagogue on the sabbath day: Quicken with thy abiding presence the life of thy Church in the parishes; and grant that every parish church in our land may be as a city set on a hill, a witness to thy claims upon our worship and service, a power-house of prayer, and a joy and comfort to thy servants. Hear us from thy throne in heaven, where with the Father and the Holy Ghost thou livest and reignest, one God, world without end.
