From an ancient prayerContinue, O Lord, thy most holy Word and gospel in this realm of England, and grant that we may truly and thankfully embrace it. Give peace to thy Church from external troubles and persecutions, and from domestic discord and dissension; that all who profess thy Word and gospel may have the same as well in heart as in mouth; for thy name’s sake and for thy Christ’s sake.
