Almighty and everlasting God, whose Word alone is truth: Hear us as we pray now for those millions who have lately learned to read, or who will shortly become literate. Protect them, we beseech thee, from the poison of evil literature, and grant thy help to those who strive to provide them with Christian books; that thy saving truth may be made available to all mankind, and thy light may shine in earth’s darkest places; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
