O Blessed Lord, who hast commanded thy Church to bear witness to thee among all nations: We beseech thee to give the assurance of thy presence to those who have gone forth as thy ambassadors in distant lands. Sanctify them, we beseech thee, with the Holy Spirit; teach them to endure hardship; gird them with thy truth; make their hearts burn with thy love; and use them in thy service for the furtherance of the gospel, and for the honour and glory of thy holy name.
