O God, we remember especially before thee those who are facing hardship, danger and persecution for thy name’s sake. Uphold them in their need; give them strength to endure; and may their example inspire us to more courageous service, that we together with them may strive for the advancement of thy kingdom throughout the world; for Jesus Christ our Saviour’s sake.
