After Prayers of 1585Be merciful, O Father of all mercies, to thy Church universal dispersed throughout the whole world, that all thy faithful people may have grace to confess thy holy name; and especially be merciful to such as are under persecution for their testimony, and their profession of the gospel; that as they stand fast for thy holy Word, so they may be upheld by it; through thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ.
