O God, our refuge and strength, who art a very present help in trouble: Have mercy upon thy Church in the midst of oppression and persecution. Deliver thy people by thy mighty aid from tyranny and wrong; keep them faithful in the hour of trial; and restore to them the blessings of freedom and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
