O Lord Jesus Christ, we beseech thee to quicken and purify thy holy Church, against which thou hast promised that the powers of death shall never prevail; revive the ancient fires of devotion and zeal, and kindle in the hearts of all thy people a new spirit of prayer and adventure; for the glory of thy name, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit ever one God, world without end.
