O Lord Jesus Christ, who in thy last agony didst commend thy spirit into the hands of thy heavenly Father: Have mercy upon all sick and dying persons; may death be unto them the gate of everlasting life; and give them the assurance of thy presence even in the dark valley; for thy name’s sake who art the resurrection and the life, and to whom be glory for ever and ever.
