The Suffering — Children in Need (1)
O God whose heart is as the heart of a child: Hear our prayer for children who are suffering through the sin, hatred, and stupidity of men and women. In thy mercy restore to them what has been taken from them. Raise up fathers to the fatherless, mothers to the motherless, friends to the friendless. Wipe out from their souls the stain of misery and fear; and give back to them the trustfulness and untroubled joy which should be theirs. To those who look after them and teach them, grant faith that thou art able to do this, and patient wisdom to cooperate with thee, for the sake of Jesus Christ, who, taking the children in his arms, blessed them, saying, Of such is the kingdom of heaven.
