Occasional Prayers

O Loving Father, we pray for all who are handicapped in the race of life: the blind, the defective, the delicate, those worn with sickness, and all who are permanently injured. May they learn the mystery of the road of suffering which Christ has trodden and saints have followed, and bring thee this gift which angels cannot bring, a heart that trusts thee even in the dark; and this we ask in the name of him who himself took our infirmities upon him, even the same Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
