O God, by whose will we were born to be citizens of this land: Enable us to love our country, not in word only, but in deed and in truth. Let us never rejoice in any selfish pleasures, nor accept a life of idleness while others toil for our comfort; but rather let us who have received most be ready to give most, in the spirit of thy Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
