Occasional Prayers

Almighty God, by whom alone kings reign and princes decree justice, and from whom alone cometh counsel and understanding: We humbly beseech thee to grant thy heavenly wisdom to those who have been called to serve in the parliament of this nation. Grant that, having thy fear always before their eyes, they may lay aside all private interests and partial affections, and take counsel together for the glory of thy name, the maintenance of true religion and justice, and the welfare, peace and unity of the realm; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
