After William LaudO Lord, bless this kingdom and commonwealth, that there may be peace and prosperity in all its borders. In peace, so preserve it that it corrupt not; in trouble, so defend it that it suffer not; and so order it, whether in plenty or in want, that it may faithfully serve thee and patiently seek thy kingdom, the only sure foundation both of men and states; through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Redeemer.
