Occasional Prayers

O God our Father, who in the gospel of thy Son hast manifested thy love to us and given us exceeding great and precious promises: Lift us, we pray thee, above all our doubts and fears, and grant us the full assurance of faith; that trusting to thy grace alone, and holding fast by thy word, we may evermore rejoice in thy salvation; through the merits of him who died for us, and rose again victorious, the same Jesus Christ our Saviour.
