Occasional Prayers

Gracious Father, who sent your Son to free the oppressed and proclaim your favor, forgive us, your Church, where we have failed to show your justice and favor to the vulnerable among us. Move us to needed confession and repentance. Reorient us not to preservation of ourselves and our broken systems, but to a cruciform life, recognizing that you call us to lay down our lives for you and your holy Kingdom. And may you show your mercy to those whom we, your Church, have harmed. We pray these things in the holy name of him whom you sent in love to fulfill and restore all things. Amen.
